Is there a site that kind of lists WS in order of which you should use? For example, I have 157 axe skill (capped on bst at 51) and Raging Axe seems to still be the best but honestly, I do not have time to test it out since I only play during lunch really. Also, my Scythe seems to still use Slice. Both of these are the first ws you get with weapon. I know I will be getting Rampage soon for axe but until then is Raging the best?

http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Skill_Caps/Beastmaster It doesnt really tell you whats better, but does give you parts of the damage formula for the Weaponskills and tell you when they are attainable by level

You should use whatever suites your current task. Don't get caught up in what skill level the weapon skills are awarded.

Your multi-hit weaponskills will typically outshine most others in damage in solo play. So, yes, Raging Axe does pretty well until Rampage on most targets.

Smash Axe can be used to Stun enemy TP moves.

If you're doing skillchains in a group, you serve the skillchain and do the best WS that can be used for it.

Basically solo is what I am after. I probably need to macro Smash Axe as a just in case. Thanks for that. Seems like Raging Axe is way to go for another 5 levels or so. Just seems like such a waste for most WS but then again I guess in group play that gets made up for with skillchains.

I'm still pretty new but I can attest that skillchains are still awesome on Nasomi.

As a low level THF (16 now, 14 in this example) using a sword I had access to 2 Weapon Skills. Fast blade and the categorically inferior Burning Blade. Because our tank had a G.Axe with Shield Break and both our Red Mage and Black mage had Fire, we could take out an IT Lizard as though it was an EP when both the tank and I had TP. When I hit 15 it didn't make sense to use Sneak Attack + Fast blade because the Skillchain + magic burst just did so much more.

Soloing at earlier levels I was switching between dagger with Wasp Sting and sword with Fast Blade. The two WSs were both useful with Wasp Sting's poison effect, but typically Fast Blade was better because the higher upfront damage ended fights faster and saved my HP. I'm not experienced with BST (solo or in a party) but I imagine WS's will be similar to that experience. Some of them offer nice options which are very situational but largely shine in a group setting with skillchains. One or two offer great raw damage and will be your mainstay WS.

Pretty much this, especially the bolded part. In some cases the WS aren't coded properly. For example with Samurai Tachi: Enpi (first weaponskill you get) just hits way harder than it did on retail, and around lv 50 would normally be swapped out for Tachi: Jinpu. But here on Nasomi, Jinpu is anemic and you continue using Enpi until you get Tachi: Yukikaze at level 60 or so. But even when things were coded properly in era, instead of WS getting gradually stronger (like you might expect) they were more or less all over the place in terms of usefulness and damage dealt. I think with axe it was Raging until you got Rampage, and then Rampage forever unless you needed Mistral for a Light SC.
