So I'm guessing fishing levels are bugged? It said I reached level 0 then level 1 then a few days later it said reached level 0 again. It also appeared that it said i caught Cobalt jellyfish but it didn't increase the stack size. Inventory was not full. That seems to have stopped tho

So are the fishing levels themselves bugged or just hiw they're displayed on the menu? I don't mind that as long as the time I'm fishing isn't getting wasted

The display in the menu is wrong. Your actual level is displayed in the log when you get a skill up and it is correct here on the website.

Another thing that will happen is if your inventory is full, it won't error and tell you you could not hold it, it will let you keep fishing and not getting the fish.

What's happening is that you're getting a .1 skill up, but the game displays that as 1.0. If you zone out, it will correct itself. It's not that you lost anything, it's just a display error.

Fishing is worth it. The more time you put in the more you get out of it. Once you hit 49 you'll start making some really decent money (when considering other sub-60 farming methods ). When you hit 76 that's when the real cash starts coming in.

Once you hit 75 and start playing in large groups or doing other stuff, sure, there are better ways to make money including OWNMS and BCNMs. But for a new player such as myself, fishing has been very good to me and takes minimal input from the user. I typically watch something on Netflix while I farm or play guitar IRL.
