Hi,
{Context: Returning player from 2005 so I know all about the grind!}
1. Priority: Leveled Warrior to 30 (to unlock adv. jobs with Guild to not miss out)
2. Leveled Monk and Thief using Hand-to-Hand + cheap food
3. Currently leveling Monk because it's fun and underrated; it is currently at Lvl. 25
I solo'ed most of my levels to 30 (easy/DCs) because sometimes I don't have hours to play and it usually takes 1.5 hours (or less) to level and I get items to sell at the same time.
Better than running to a camp, waiting for people, etc.
Great tip on soloing:
I was able to make over 60k+ gil selling items from solo'ing. I had enough to get Chainmail @ 24, Spiked necklace, Neckchopper (19k now), Battle Gloves, Balance rings, Beetle earrings, etc. that can be used for other jobs that I won't have to buy again. I am NOT a fisherman

I might do this if I really run out of money and farming zones.
The grind is addictive because I know what is waiting for me at the next level, or higher levels - the next piece of gear, weapon skill, job trait/ability, events with LS, etc.
I hope that people who are not returning players realize this and don't get discouraged.
The feeling from 2005 is still there except that I noticed that there are more advanced jobs in Dunes and more PLs than I remembered (I assume people are dual boxing now more).
The people I've met have been great and I received a lot of help when I asked for it. So far, so good!
