WS Gear Macro

WS Macro

TP Gear Macro

The only 100% effective way to do it. Yes, it's three buttons per WS, but that's unfortunately the best way to do it.

I agree with the separate TP Gear set macro (mainly because I have multiple TP sets, depending on current buffs up) but is it necessary to separate the WS Gear macro and the WS macro? I've tested numerous times, while spamming other macros, and never once did a Shark Bite vary outside of the WS damage range that it should. This is with (#1st line /equipset xx #2nd /ws "Weapon skill") no waits at all. I was under the assumption that if the WS goes off then the equipset will go off 100%. This is my findings with 100+ tests doing it both ways.

Also in regards to saying that "3 macros is just better than one" thats not entirely true. You can only really do so many inputs (especially if you're dualboxing), and sometimes optimal involves less blinking. I remove my provoke set while meriting because it simply causes me to have to press too buttons (I almost exclusively dualbox in merits) and pressing one less thing means being more optimal on my mage, or positioning better on my main (because blinking is a pain while trying to position mobs.)

Edit: Yeah what Naimah said, if you understand the internal cooldowns of certain inputs, this game runs itself in a pretty straightforward manner.

Probably true in the event of a good connection, but I've had equipsets not fire numerous times in Dynamis when there's 30+ mobs on the screen and lots of packets are being sent to the server at once, or my client is straight up lagging.

This is true, but I'd say this is the exception over the norm. I normally make my macros under the assumption that Im in an optimal environment, which is when I seek to play optimally. (Mostly merit parties, HNM fights, and dynamis under normal circumstances)

The idea of having a gearswap then the WS on <st> is pretty good. Hit the macro, once you see the blink, hit confirm.

You didn't need to add anything before/after this.

Dunno why I bother responding to someone whose sole purpose on the forum is trolling and shitposting but...you realize the premise of that post is playing Red Mage with separate gear swap macros in play, right? I setup Red Mage long before I started tinkering with writing Equipsets into macros, and I don't really want to pick through and rewrite 40 some odd macros just to adjust to the style I use for Paladin and Dark Knight where the swaps are built in to the action macro. In short I actively play jobs at 75 both with separate gear swaps, and with them built in to macros, and both methods have worked for everything I've thrown them at. And that's pretty much everything in game short of Wyrms and AV. Your mileage may vary, some restrictions may apply.

But do keep pretending that fluffing your actions per minute for shits n giggles means something relevant.
