The only risk is PLing for free (excepting PLing parties that have your main/alt in it). If you charity PL and someone in the party gets jailed for RMT, you might get raked. Always have an alibi for PLing and/or an extant relationship with someone in the party you are PLing. Gil. Items. Favors. You get the idea.

Food for thought: Alts are a thing, and people don't always level alts and mains together. I didn't even create my alt until I already had one job at 75 on my main character. I didn't actually focus on leveling it until my third job at 75 on my main. You can't just assume someone with no sub job would have no means of obtaining gil outside of RMT. It's one thing to be skeptical, and skepticism is always good, it's another to jump straight to a conclusion.

What makes you think they bought gil? I would probably pay someone to powerlevel me too if I knew someone who would do that for a reasonable price. And since you can't know that he bought gil you should have nothing to worry about. Usually.
