Doesn't matter if it's a private server. It is the game and era they want to play and because it is a game where you can invest hundreds to thousands of hours, the value of an account can get quite high.
Maybe the form of my naiveite is unclear to you. I am not speaking about the value of the account. I am speaking about human nature. Who the hell decides to pay this much money to skip the actual value of the game? The rigor and experience is what makes this game worth playing. When I reach the point where I have my the jobs I want maxed out, experienced all of end game, merits expanded and friends have moved on then that's it. I am going on over 2 years and I am no where near that thank god. Why the hell would anyone decide to skip all that? Its hilarious to me and really interesting at the same time.
This is the point where some tard goes okay, boomer. Call me old fashioned, I guess...
Not everyone has the time for insane amounts grinding (but they do have the money to skip all that from like a full time job). Theres a certain amount of discipline involved to keep playing what is essentially a massive grind in a virtual world. Thats why most mmo's today have a pay2win option.
I myself couldn't do it, for me it it felt like 'work' more than play, so thats why i haven't been on Nasomi for the past few months. Theres so much other stuff to do in my life that I can't focus on a single game that is also ancient (I would imagine back then when FF11 just came out with all the hype and being young i would have the energy to max out on everything). I think if I was guaranteed an income and didn't have to grind at work to maintain my health and living expenses, i could dedicate my life to this game, but theres just other stuff I have to do. I would never pay2win or RMT in any game btw, personally i think all MMO's are is watching numbers accumulate, and if i really wanted to live in a fantasy world i would just read books or DnD. I guess it all comes down to what you value in your life and how you want to spend it.
