I /anon when solo'ing, farming, or questing. Also, when I know I want be on game long enough to party. It cuts down on invites. I actually do not get bothered by them but I know as a person who sets up parties it gets frustrating when you need one more DD and everyone keeps saying no lol. So I will be one less no for them as they will never send me that /tell in the first place.

You guys who don't like getting random tells while you are doing things solo could also just /away and block all tells entirely. When you want to talk to people again just type /online to revert status.

Most people like to talk to friends via /tell, they just want to cut down on party invites and tele requests.

I go /anon only when I'm looking to do something in a zone and my sj would give away what I was doing... or if I'm going to EXP and have a shitty sj.

I am aware of that, it was more directed at some of the earlier posts expressing a desire to just be left alone while they do something specific.

I think it's just people mainly being courteous. Hey I do not want to party. Let me /anon and that way you know not to ask and do the whole dance. Again like Wolf stated. I am sure most are ok with /tells coming in from friends and LS mates they just want to make it less of a hassle for others and themselves as far as parties go. Even when I want to be left alone I personally will only /anon instead of /away because I will always listen to those with questions. I still like to help the community out.

I WAS IN A PARTY, MAN. But seriously, this post isn't about you. That time, you were 2/3 people who asked for a tele in the short time I was in Bastok getting ready to xp. I get numerous tells throughout the day if I'm not anon. It was okay. I have a bleeding heart so it's pretty much always okay. If I want to be left alone, I just go anon. I've had a few ignore that though because they remembered that I was "that whm that tele'd them before." That's when it's not okay...but I still say okay because I don't want to look like an asshole. feelsbadman

We need an explanation to use /anon now? No thanks.

I'm never /anon and I rarely get asked to tele anyone
