I think it would be more accurate to say that PL is less common past 20s-30s for your first 75. Once you hit 75 and gravitate towards an endgame shell, you'll generally start to party more and more with those people and its rare to see a group of very experienced Nasomi players without a PL. I have ten 75's and I'd say that probably 90% of my parties since 2016 have had a PL, all the way up to level 60's camps. I do not dual-box, nor do I usually make parties, so I was not doing the PL myself for any of that 90% either. Often, a higher level party will even have multiple PL's in their own separate party for refresh efficiency.

I'm not offering an opinion one way or the other on PL, I just want to give you an idea of what you may run into going forward.

While I get your point about the nostalgia, most of us are adults now with less time to play... and there's plenty of hard content and grinding to bond over past the dunes. The Dunes suck and are boring.

Also - I, at least, always make a point to make my parties talkative.. whether they have a PL or not. We generally have a good time and joke around.

Great you do you and other people can powerlevel if they want and "Making friends" pfft yeah right the only people that are your true friends are the people that invite you when your leveling THF, the rest are just bodies to use to help yourself get gear/experience.

To label this as virtue signaling leads me to believe you're either a little sensitive or you're just reading the original post the wrong way.

Yes, it's an opinion, but it wasn't presented in a "I'm better than thou" manner at all. He merely stated what he thought made FFXI great!

My issue with PLing isn't that PLing goes on, but it's that some people get upset if there isn't a PL with the party.

You shouldn't really ever expect it, but some people do.
