no, but people tend to try to be as optimal as possible, so they avoid harder mobs

Funny. I never considered crabs to be "harder mobs" lol. They were pretty standard fare for many level ranges back in the day. It's also weird that people avoid exping on the mobs that drop sj items. What happened?

I'm all for different areas to exp. Just need to convince everyone else. Home point teleports would also be helpful to get around to different regions and exp areas.

But don't worry, you can still form a party to do something that isn't the norm, and most people will still come.

True. This type of thing expands over time as someone leads others to places they haven't been, then they end up doing the same at a later date.

Crabs are easy but slow. They seem to have even more HP and DEF than on retail and most of their TP moves revolve around dragging out the fight.

So are most mobs on this server the same as on retail? Or are their stats/powers different? As in: will certain mobs absolutely destroy you because they are overtuned when on retail they typically would be fine? I've noticed in the Dunes that people avoid crabs in general, which seems odd.

I dont know why you are being told no, many of the mobs are definitely different from retail. It becomes very obvious the higher level you go and you try to stick to any of kind of retail xp guide. Not that Im complaining, it's just a different set of camps, but the camps people persistently go to are chosen because the old retail ones arent as good. Once people get into the 50+ levels they have plenty to do. Sure exping at a bad camp is better than no xp, but is it better than starting cop, af, limit breaks, farming, crafting, etc? This is why xping in the higher levels can be kind of brutal for finding parties and replacements, very hit or miss.

Especially after how badly blms were nerfed recently. They feel really undertuned in xp parties in the lower levels now.

No wonder you think stuff is different than retail, Ex. BLMs use 2006 retail damage formulas now instead of a DSP placeholder from 2011 before it was even called DSP...

wat.

You started arguing in here saying mobs are totally wrong and that BLM damage is too.

I said that you might think mobs are wrong if you think BLM damage is, since BLM damage isn't.

Honestly kind of fun to see how people get around old camps. Was in a Carpenter's Landing group on beetles and flytraps in early 20s, beat the hell out of mandragora. Still aoe sleep though.
