I agree wolf. At some point the server become so populated that you won’t be able to do any of the good stuff if you wait until it’s completely free

to the OP: if you had gone on nas chat and asked for nasomi to look at it live while it was happening, this guy may have had some heavy handed punishment

What an asshole, everything is free and competition for farming is part of the game, go play single player if you can't handle it.

Holding mobs for any length of time is against the rules. You can only hold HNMs for some time (Knight Crabs arent HNMs, btw).

Players have been deleveled/jailed for holding mobs without killing them. If you claim a mob, you must make a conscious effort to kill it. No bullshit "I'm killing it, just slowly ))))))))))" memes either. Nas doesn't care about your attempt to tiptoe over the line. You should send nas the screenshots you took if this inconvenienced you enough.

ur mentality if actually the issue. I would say you pay like everyone else and are entitled to fight mobs as well, but this is a free server. Camps should be respected. if you killed a few, noticed he was farming them and then moved on no foul. send him a tell "hey can you let me know when camp is open, Thanks!" However, the thought that every mob is available for anyone is actually BM and wouldn't of held up on retail. Its the same mentality of a group moving into another groups spawn and kill the mobs they were exping on. Camp checking, using manners and common sense are lost on this server. people saying what the other guy did was wrong are missing the point. He was there first. there are 100 other zones and 1000s of other mobs. you weren't questing for a specific item. But your post isn't shocking, nor is the support. Server is full of this.

At any rate, no that is incorrect. The thought that every mob is available for anyone is true. The inverse of that mentality should be ostracized and treated as shortsighted and dimwitted as it is.

Common courtesy goes a long ways, for sure. It's up to each person to decide if their time is best spent farming in another area that someone else is farming, but the fact remains.. Carpenter's Landing is one of the best farming spots for lower levels, and pretending that just because you're already there entitles you to no one else showing up to try and farm alongside you? I've got bad news. Go enjoy another game, because it ain't FFXI.

well, like i said i was lv38 on red mage, and hes a lv75 thief, farming low lv mobs.

is that ok in my mind? sure why not, camps are open for everyone.

should i have asked before? maybe why not, but is this a rule? i think not.

Is a lv75 thief holding mobs for more than 20min, even taking them to another part of the map because he got salty, against the rules? i think it is.

So who's breaking the rules here? me because i didn't asked permission? or him for holding mobs?

i think the answer is clear.

i think he already read this thread because i told him i was posting this.

So now he knows that competition on normal mobs and nm is allowed and that holding mobs is not.

tbh i don't mind loosing mobs to a high level its part of the game, but when he took them to another part of the map, while mentioning he was crafting with his other char, that sure bother me.

next time i will record him if he does it again.

That guys is lucky his thief isnt level 1. Maybe Nas should warn these guys once before dropping the hammer, but he'd need an excel spreadsheet just to keep track of who he has warned.
