Only your own home nations aketon will work for you. Putting on a bastok aketon being from sandy will do nothing for you. I believe the post is correct about the crystals. Last time I lvled a low job with it on I remember thinking I was actually seeing less crystals than usual. Not that its a pressing concern. Movement speed in town definitely works and thats why most people would get it.

TL:DR ANY aketon will work as long as your in your home nation , but you cant get movement bonus in non home nation.
who hurt you? i verified this with my alts bastok aketon it does increase my movement speed in sandy. wasnt aware. still doesnt warrant that aggression though. Calm down.
