Quests are part of the game, you can explore and have fun while doing them. I'll only ever farm for something that can't be obtained any way but gil, however when it comes to fun vs busy work, hands down i will always choose to go on an adventure.

This isn't a solo game. The question you're asking assumes you're a total loner who doesn't have friends who can help with the quest, or you're too proud to ask for help with it.

To answer your question sincerely, I would never buy it. Kazham pass can be obtained as early as about lvl 20? That would mean id have to fish up 150k before i've even left the dunes @_@ There is many other things i'd need and can use that 150k to obtain. And lets be honest, Kazham is not worth 150k haha

want to be on a level playing field with fishers since it "needs nerfed"? then spend the time and level it. i spent 3 weeks of 6+ hours a day fishing, nothing else, just fishing. nerf the npc prices of fish and watch your stack of sole sushi go up, along with any other fish or fish product to make up for the lost gil from npcing large amounts.

Teleport scrolls come to mind. I could do the quest, but the quests are kind of obnoxious and the scroll price on AH is pretty low (at least for the base 3) so I'd likely just buy them if I wanted them. Sleepga II is similar. It's a pain in the butt questline so a lot of people choose to just buy it from others that have already put in the time.

148K @ 40k/hr is about 4 hours fishing unless you got lucky with an inside the belly item. Meanwhile you could farm up the keys in as little as an hour, assuming you have appropriate OP warps. Buying the pass to me is a waste of 150k when it can be easily quested.
