Not every person in the world is interesting in worshiping (e-)celebs. Along with that, not everyone is interested in the vapid exposition streamers bring about and would rather have their free time not be tainted by this kind of stuff.

I think problematic situations could arise regarding the harassment of players that have somehow slighted an audience following a stream. People are crazy.

Of course I have enough faith in Nasomi to police the server fairly regardless, and on the upside, it brings an undeniable amount of new players, which is great.

BTW is that person streaming every single moment he plays? Eventually he'll get to the point of having to grind for hours farming and/or fishing etc. I wonder whether kids will watch stream of that too - I'd probably be bored to death.

I've found the only useful thing to watching a few ppl stream this server is for nm/hnm tods. Not mentioning names but a lot of endgame ls members do it.

That's different - Sometimes you'd want to watch how people fought a NM so you can learn. Usually these aren't live stream though and I guess the party knew about it being recorded. It's the fact that you don't know you're being streamed that it the problem.

I've been n a exp live stream party. Its funny as hell watching the person and having him explain shit for hrs on end. "So the drk used souleater, his hits hurt more at the expense of his hp. Also sucks for the healer"

There's a thing called Twitch for streaming. Kind of like Youtube, but dedicated to video games. Ninja is the most popular streamer on Twitch.

There are various reasons people would watch. Sometimes it's to see someone more skilled than you are and marvel at technique. Some streamers are actually entertaining/funny. Some people are fun to watch because they're one of the worst gamers ever. It's a mixed bag.

The real incentive to stream is money - and I don't mean in game currency. Sometimes viewers will toss in a 'superchat' - basically a tip for being amusing. A lot of these guys have a patreon so people can give monthly donations, and youtube channels that are monetized as well, so they get ad revenue from views there. I guess some people tip with in game items too, I've seen a few streamers getting items/game money from their fanbase too.

I suppose it's interesting because you actually get to interact with the person you're watching? Not my thing, but whatever floats people's boats. As for invasion of privacy? Long as he doesn't find a way to stream me from my living room I generally don't care. I don't say anything I wouldn't say to people's faces in public anyway. But at this point if you're playing online games this is a fact of life, and you're not really gonna stop it unless you ask if anyone's streaming and excuse yourself from events when you find out they are.

I can't imagine they'd stream boring shit like farming or HELM unless they're good at cracking jokes to keep the audience from falling asleep. As far as FFXI goes probably more interesting to stream parties and endgame junk. But this game would be boring as all unholy hell to watch anyway.
