THF is just an unfortunate job. I'm just shy of 72 on mine atm and won't play anything else until its done.

You feed the monster TP (atleast, afaik you do, sometimes it doesnt feel any different from normal)
You deal ok damage but not great
Your highest damage comes from positional, which no one else really cares to try and set up
A good portion of parties don't need the threat redistribution of SATA or just TA
As a puller, you have no sleep so its harder to have the next mob ready and keep long chains rolling
You provide no utility to the party (for exp)
You either eat up a party slot of a much better DD or a much more versatile puller
There are literary hundreds of us to pick from so we're not head hunted like the other DD's or BRD/COR

On an off note, wtf is going on with COR? When I leveled mine, I always pulled, but I have had absolutely 0 COR's pull for any party I've been in.

Exactly...

Thief is similar to BLM and WHM... See you at 75, until then stay out of my groups. It's unfortunate, but nothing anyone says or does will change that reality. You're going to need to leverage the point you made (that this is an MMO), and make friends to PT with you to 75.

Sorry, I leveled classes that will help me get into endgame FIRST, then I'll level the "fun" jobs once I have money and a decent position in my LS to have that option. If you're gonna be stubborn and force your force your first lvl75 to be a HIGH-supply, low-demand, low-use class, then you're going to have to suffer through the consequences.

My suggestion's always "Solo THF as far as you can while farming and as long as it's fun"

I have 2 75 blus already so this plea isn't even personal, but those poor guys take forever to hit 75 and it's one of the best, most underutilized jobs on the roster. Make a party or level another job, idk, but there's plenty of people getting their thf to 75 and far faster then BLM BLU or WHMs.

they cant reliably sleep here. their spell accuracy is based on ranged accuracy, so all that agi stacking isnt doing what it usually does. so they just usually chill and most parties are happy to have them do it.

I don't think a cor should have to pull at all really. They actually do pretty amazing damage comparable to a rng if they aren't being cheap and shooting mobs and then keeping their qd's on cool down at 40+. They fall off at some point in comparison to a rng but honestly the damage is still pretty damn valuable and along with them being able to keep primo buffs on mages and melee, I typically would not ask a cor in my pt to be a puller.

How to level THF to 75:

Step 1) Level BST to 75
Step 2) THF/BST

You chose a weak DD as your first job. My advice is to level an alt with BRD or RDM so you can guarantee yourself a slot in the PT.

Before Nabutso comes in here and says don't 2box PTs. I've done it with 2 of my jobs on each char, RDM+THF and BRD+RNG.[/quote]

Currently leveling Redmage its 62. I have 75 whm, 75 drk, 75 pld, on server and zero plans on leveling thief past 35 for my sub job. I believe giving thief a extra 5 level sync wouldn't be game breaking and help prevent the bottle neck. When I /sea all 60-70 last night, it was 7 THF's, 5 BLM, 1 WHM, 1 RDM(me) for about a good 2 hours. I got a pt level'd, when i left the pt, I check'd again still same people lfg 2 hours later. Just feelsbadman for them.

Edit idk how to quote people correctly #forumnoobie

The /BST is a like a hidden gem. People don't realize how fast it is to kill DC/EMs.
