Two runs in a row, petri was landing even when faced properly. This happened repeatedly. Didn't happen at all last night.

What gives?

Don't stand so closely together, you need to spread out so breakga only hits 1 person and then you can keep DPSing with the other 2 people, or kite if you want to wait it out while the breakga wears off. RNGx2 shouldnt have problem with time, so just focus on staying alive and while it's attacking 1, keep the other RNG in the proper distance for max dmg.

I'll pay closer attention to what is hitting us with petri when we go again, yesterday's run was just so clearly different than the runs the day before I wanted to make the thread. If it turns out it was just breakga spam, then I'm a baddie. If it's not, I'll report back either way.

There is a petrify gaze attack ("Petro Gaze"), but it should function correctly. At least it did last week. Breakga will hit you regardless.

Make sure you're standing in a wide triangle with each member at least 15 yalms away from the other. Fight in the BC area, not on the ramp.

What is your setup? This is probably the easiest BCNM in the game with the correct setup so that's the most important question, and it's 90% like retail with the only issue being the wall pathing that you mentioned. Just don't run TOO far ahead of Sobbing Eyes and that won't happen.

I've done NIN/BLM, BLM/NIN and RDM/NIN or two NINs. But my fastest runs were THF/NIN, NIN/WAR and RDM/NIN (about 6 minutes for a clear).

Sorry to hijack the thread. NIN/WAR - can you elaborate on this? What is the main difference between this and NIN/RDM with fast cast and extra INT?

Thanks!

Back to the main issue. We were getting petrified way too often and I've never seen this before. I even watched countless Nas and retail videos where no one got petrified or it was not over 4 times in the same fight like what we experienced.

To keep hate off of the THF. NIN nukes aren't enough to keep hate against 200-250 damage Sneak Attacks and 400 damage Fast Blades.

Just a quick question. I have never done this fight. I have NIN/RDM. Should I stack INT+ for this? Is INT a modifier for Ninjutsu spells?

The RDM can keep Barstone up to help resist Breakga more often. I like RDM/WHM for Barstonra for the Sobbing Eyes.

Barpetrify

You can't use Barpetrify and Barpetra in this fight because they are level 43. But Barstone and Barstonra will also help and can be used.

Yes stack whatever int you can get.
For the most part it will be earrings, rings, belt, back, boots.
I have not tried it but I heard that crimson blades give a small amount when syncd down. I doubt it given sync on Nas though
