Don't be like that guy by telling other people about it. Never mention how you make gil to another soul, ever. If their hustle is finding out how other people make gil, they have ways of finding it out. Don't do their work for them.

Yes, prices are insane.. you know why? BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE PAYING. If you want something, google it, go on ffxiclopedia and see where you can get the item yourself. FFXI is NOT a game for the lazy. Go do your teleport quests, go do you ninjutsu scroll quests, that alone is over 500k. Learn to do quests, learn to follow guides, and you will do extremely well in this game.

I've made over 200k during my first 2 weeks playing the game simply from selling 5 different items which I obviously won't name that people are paying between 100-400% more than they would at the NPC. It's not that hard to find what items those are, and I sell dozens per day of each. I simply log on my mule, march to the NPC, fill up my inventory, list everything, and close the client until one of the items has sold out

As someone who regularly buys items off the AH that I know exist on NPC's for cheaper, in other cities, this is a very respectable hustle for folks starting out.

While revealing the items I'm talking about would help me out, as more people would drive it closer to the NPC price..... I also see what it's like to start out, and respect the people that have figured it out. Go do that.

Low key, farm beehive chips, 3 chips 1 distilled water (12gil at npc) and a fire crystal, which youll get in dunes or off gobs, makes 1 wax. A stack of wax is 10k on the AH. Sells quick and its a very low alch synth, like 3 I think, so you can craft it really anytime, no matter how new your char is. That was good advise when I started. Made some good money that way. Also finding stuff on the AH that npc's for more as well. I found items on the ah for liek 20-30gil that npc for like 60-80 gil. Its not much, but as a new player, thats how I funded some scale gear and stuff. Even just npcing crab meat is like 200 gil or close to it. That is good too.
Tons of ways to make money. If you are poor, that is a you problem, not the game problem.

This. I purposefully pay extra even if I know I can get something off NPC for less because A) My time is worth more than the person selling it and B) Its nice to help out those who their only means of hustle at the moment is working the NPCs.

I didn't say what I was doing with the stuff I farm... I left the rest for the OP to figure out for himself.

Lolwhut? You can easily make 10-50k just leveling a job to 15 if you know what to xp off of and sell everything on the AH. LATE GAME 50k might not be much but it easily gets you a full set of armor to level with at that level.
