This is a classic server, it's intended to be more challenging by definition.
Yes there are a few out of era things but the last thing that will be added (or that we want to be added) is stuff that makes it look like retail.
Nas could have removed XP bands altogether, instead he chose to keep them as a holiday gift.

There is also in era stuff removed like xp bands ;p

I thought the reason xp bands were disabled was because they had retail stats for the recast timer and exp bonus. I think if they get changed back to era (1000 exp and 16 hour recast) they should be added back.

There are probably exploits surrounding the use of the ring and they likely are even employed during the small windows when they are active by a select few cucknuggets who just cant help themselves. When he turns them on, that is a gift. Just accept that there actually is a method to nasomi's madness on a lot of things.

xp rings used to be on original servers and only lasted a short bit i still don't understand why they are not allowed. At least up to empress band:

Gotta look at it from Nasomi's perspective. If he enables xp bands, people reach endgame faster, run out of things to do faster, and quit faster. He effectively provides longevity to the server by slowing things down, good or bad. In a time locked game, you will run out of things to do eventually.

Currently, there really isn't much to do after 75. This will hopefully be alleviated by the addition of ToAU content, but even then, a year after the content is released, it'll be the same problem. you'll run out of things to do.

This is what we signed up for. It's one of the reasons I can't get back into retail for longer than a month at a time. Development is slow and with nothing new coming, it's hard to stay motivated sometimes.
