Once you hit around 30ish, finding a party isn't that bad at night time. There's a good bit of people that are 55+ doing pt's most of the time. I'm not sure how many people need to be online for the sync range to kick in to be 15 but it probably should be around 800 people?

Some people leave their clients logged in at night for different reasons, even both characters and a mule in jeuno. Maybe the sync range should be based off the number of jobs below 75 that are online compared to actual player base. 15 sync would definitely make things a little more smooth.

I do not agree with having level 75s in pt's with their buddys who are sync 30.

Nas has said that the thresholds he uses are already considerate of those that are AFK/mules. That if he wasn't going to consider that, he'd have even lower numbers.

I believe 600+ is when it becomes 10. I've leveled 6 jobs now to 75, and I've just never really thought it was much of an issue. I'm sure it is for certain times of the day, so I'm definitely sympathetic to that fact.... but I don't have much sympathy for someone who's mad that they can't just always XP with their friend on one of their high lvl jobs.

The biggest reason I loved FFXI in retail, was because it was a cooperative game played with friends. My favorite part was leveling with friends/LSmates(static). I'm not sure why you think anyone is looking for sympathy. I am typing my thoughts, not looking for someone to look down on me, and "give" me pity.
It's strange to have a hang up on syncing in the first place. From a "purist" stand point, our server is not era. Even a ten level sync is out of era. You used sync all the way to seventy-five, six times over. Drawing an arbitrary line on how far the sync should be, because it was decided to punish the masses for the abuse of a few, has never made any sense. It's lazy, and far from fair. Why would you assume this is the way, and not question it? Parroting that everything is fine, because you think this is what you're supposed to agree with.
If the server started out without the needlessly constrictive limit, then there was a time Nas supported it. Did it bother you, or anyone then? Or would you have defended it, because you follow everything without question, flip flopping to whatever you think you are supposed to?
The idea that it would ruffle someone, that a small group of six are playing a game together to have a good time, a group that you aren't even aware of existing, makes no sense. When you wander by level synced parties right now, you have no idea what any of the players true levels are. Maybe one of them is abusing the glitch that lets a player sync more than is allowed? You are walking by, happily, not even aware of it. Which would go to show, it doesn't matter to you, if players are more than ten levels apart. If you leveled six jobs to seventy-five, you won't even have to play with synced players. You can choose level seventy-five merit parties all day long, as there are plenty of people that will always want to merit with their shiny gear, and nice merits. Since that is faster for experience points, and also a way to show off your progress (plenty of 75's turn down Caedarva Mire, and other syncs). It's similar to how people think they should decide which people can be together, or what ways people should be allowed to spend their time recreationally, when it's not only, not their concern, but they likely will never even meet the people they want to impose their personal restrictions on.
Why does it give anyone gratification, that others will sit around fishing, crafting, seeking, staring at a moghouse, choosing other activities altogether, or playing in parties with randoms that afk, drop, fake D/C, play horribly, or any number of other unpleasant things, rather than supporting these people play in the groups they want to be in, making stronger connections with newer LSmates? I can only think of two types of people that would be in support of a restrictive sync. A calloused person, that doesn't want the freedom, and doesn't care about other people. (I've seen plenty of people like that on these forums), or someone that never bothers to think, why they choose to support the things they spend all their time supporting. Or why not both?

You make good points but this is quality pasta material. Good luck getting the sync changed.

What do manaburn PTs have to do with the level sync? Mob XP is already gimped when people reduce its health that aren't in the party that kills it.

I just don't see the downside to unlimited PT range. If 3/4 of the server is 75 and not willing to level new jobs, all the low camps will be used less and less because no one will be in the range to level.

What is our average peak population? 900? What percentage of those are 75s? +70%? There are about 100 mules on at any given time... What does that leave? Maaaaaaybe 100 people trying to XP across 30 different *decent* camps.

What is the negative to allowing unlimited sync? Surely XP per hour only increases in the later camps. What is gained by forcing smaller player groups to work together? We know it isn't challenge, or PLs would be bannable. It's just one of those frustrating mechanics that doesn't have any tangible benefit IMO.

Those of you asking for unlimited sync clearly never experienced Korroloka flow parties. You could literally take a job from 12 to 75 in an afternoon, and that's not something that Nas will ever allow.
While being able to sync down to your friends is cool and all, systems like these need to take into account all possible scenarios.
