I'll add my 2cents as a relatively new player. I've been playing for 2 months, with my highest job being lvl 41 and my highest craft being cooking at 62. I stayed at 60 for a while cause I wasn't sure if I wanted to take it past 60. But this past weekend I attempted to level a bit and only got to 62. Extremely discouraging with the amount of lost materials and skill ups. Not to mention I didn't see a single skill up on any breaks (even though i was within 5 of cap). And this is doing cooking, which is cheap. I can't imagine the frustration trying to do expensive recipes.

I don't mind grinding (that's why i joined nasomi in the first place), but this is on a different level. I didn't even want to play yesterday. If the gap between the rich and new players continues to widen, your going to lose a lot of new players. I deinfitely agree with above about limiting AH spots.

I don't think limiting ah spots is going to solve anyone's problems especially when we know that he is not enforcing the account system. I'm pretty sure it would make it harder on you.

I think if we try we can drive every problem back to Deadwing's accounts.

The only thing I think this truly shows is crafting has become a stigma. The only people really benefiting from the changes are those already leveled up. They will continue to make gil crafting because honestly, the investment to craft is no longer worth it. 1.5mil gil to go 1 level in GS....ridiculous and that is me buying only when prices are low and constantly checking other recipes to see if I can do them cheaper instead. I farm for a month to go 1-2 levels in crafting...farm another 3-4 weeks to go 1 more level...I dont think it should be an easy ladder to climb but it shouldnt be impossible either. Fix either the mats lost when breaking or up the skillups a slight bit to make those lost mats worth it.

1. Synth Loss is ridiculous.
Regardless of what Nabutso says, if you suceed at a synth you can either NPC it to soften the blow or most times desynth it for an extra chance at a skillup.

2. T1 is ridiculously low. 0/53 on Sniper's +1 might just be karma.
Due to T1 being low, high-lvl crafter ends up spamming T2/T3.
How sad is it that a few GS100 are competing for the lv14 rings/rep. subligar market? This creates a market where they can sell for
lower and still make a profit while making sure that lower level crafters cannot profitably synth these, which in turn makes it harder for them to fund their way up.
Again, I personally do not mind but it does hurt the server growth potential.

3. Skillups rate appears to have been nerfed.
Meh.

I'm 48.7 GS. Yesterday I did 20 crafts on gold ingots by fire crystal x 4 gold beastcoins... Out of the 20 crafts. I had 4 successful attempts...thats right only 4. Not a single skillup. Lost over half my mats in the process. When I pay 90k for 3stacks of coins....and I lose well over 45k of that...and not get one skillup while only 2.3 levels difference from cap.. There is a problem... Later that night I did 5 more synths, got .2 skillups and successful on 4 out of 5. The problem is the first scenario happens waaaaaaaay too often. I have spent well over 1.5mil gil for the last 3 levels.

Glad I stumbled across this before sinking any gil into crafting. Even with fishing to support it I seriously doubt I would find it a worthwhile endeavor. Goldsmithing in retail wasn't this painful to level, if it was I Wouldn't have gotten the craft into the 50s.

Didn't get any more or less HQs crafting in recent days with 90% moon and 50% moon, so no. I wasn't recording the stats, they were just both completely abysmal.

It's more likely that crafting is basically broke, rather than day/moon mattering I think.

He has put barriers down on new people. Plain and simple. The thinking of nas and nabutso seems to be we should extend the existing content to take a lot longer because we likely will never have more. I think most people here have given up the dream of ever seeing toau stuff on nas and I think most of his changes confirm that. Maybe he isn't wrong to do so if we truly will never see any additional content. Idk.

this is the real answer, ive played on this server over 3 years and its always the same thing. Nas will do anything he can to slow down player progression, he always has. People level to fast, nerf exp and camps, people make to much gil, take 75% of players gil, TS found a way to kill AV, nerf that, countless job nerfs, the list goes on and on. With no plans of adding new content, any skilled player at ffxi will have done everything they can in 1-2 years, and to keep people around he slows down progress, plan and simple. it's a shame for newer players tbh, and the crafting skill ups and HQs have been hit hard this time around.
