The people that have had the most success hunting NMs are not using two characters to cover a larger portion of the spawn area. at least in any real sense. Some might keep another character around to mule an item if necessary, but trying to control two characters to claim the NM would be stupid.
VE is an easy example, and a very visible one - if you ever watched Rekuza when he was streaming his VE camping, yeah, he had an alt out there. But out of hundreds of VE claims, basically all of them came on his THF.
There are a million other tricks you can learn about how NMs work on Nasomi that give you an exponentially better chance at claiming NMs than dual boxing.
