At this very moment, there are 7 THF seeking in your level range. Among them, are rank 9, 7, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 2. Unless you are a level sync, it is highly unlikely you are going to get invited at the bottom of the list, as rank 2. That's the bottom line. Are you suggesting that we are supposed to interview all 7 THF candidates before selecting an invitation? Are we supposed to ask for an itemized list of equipment and some references to vouch for your skill level? Haha what a joke, dude. The only statistic we have to go on is your level, race, and rank. You KNOW the issue. It's your rank. So have you considered ranking up instead of fishing or putting us all on blast? Rank 6 ought to do it. Otherwise, just solo THF to 75 60+ like everyone else, or level another job.

in the situation you invited a rank 6 with less gear, no SH, gimp rings, crow gear, what do you do? How do you determind his gear prior to inviting purely based on rank?

On balance, I take that risk considering the odds of a rank 6 thf vs. a rank 2 thf having good gear. If the rank 6 thf was obviously awful, I can always kick them and invite another non rank 2 thf. Plus if a level 60+ THF with no other 75 and still rank 2 had "8mil in gear" I'd be worried that either they would have residual trauma from all the solo fishing/farming or that they would be whisked away to visit Johnsniper mid-pull.

I did read it, I even referenced that mindset in my first reply to your OP. That mindset is one of the main reasons why I wouldn't invite a lower rank player that I don't know. If you're willing to set aside that for 75 (when the level cap is actually 25, so you'd be better off doing it at 25 when you've got the gear and macros handy), then what else would you set aside? Gear? AF quests? There's always FFXIV and jump potions if you want that.

You're a thf. Why are you fishing for gil? Like you could be making way more gil farming than fishing. And Yep, rank 5 takes what? 2 hours? You cant break away from fishing 100k in two hours to get your rank up a bit? Even if it helps you get more party invites? Sounds like a you problem, not a server problem.

Honestly a lot of OP's complaints could be fixed by having fully functional search comments in-game, not the garbage browser section that rarely anyone uses. I do actually remember listing pieces of notable gear in my seacom to distinguish myself apart from others back on retail.

Well, that and ya know just ranking up.
