I was looking to buy a few specific items awhile back and I watched the prices for weeks and they remained steady. Finally I gave in and purchased them since it didn't seem they were dropping anytime soon. Then almost as if by magic they started dropping. On the flip side I started selling a few items and every single one started to go down as soon as I listed on AH. To top it off a few items I still wanted to buy started going up. It was like the universe was in perfect harmony against me.

In conclusion, prices change. Deal with it.

Sounds like you need to farm something else. If it isn't profitable enough for you as it is then move on. Obviously, others are enjoying the profit where it's at. They have pushed you out and enjoying sells left and right. Good for them!

I had Utsusemi Ni on sale at 5k over asking price at ~125k. Prices dropped, I relisted, prices dropped, I relisted, prices dropped, I relisted. Eventually they bottomed out and mine sold for 60k. I have had probably 5 other items where this same thing happened, all in all costing me probably 300k.

Myself and many other people have learned this same lesson that you are still learning. Trying to make that extra 10% by having a high list price isn't worth the (very real) possibility that the item tanks, and you are stuck selling yours at 50% of what it used to be worth.

Moral: for 50k plus the cost of the item I will buy the high valued items you want, then you can buy it when the price drops

Also, don't underestimate your ability to affect the market of a single item. This is by comparison, not a very large server when you think of retail, and YOU sometimes are the catalyst that is creating price fluctuations when you enter/dont enter a market. It's not always coincidence.
