The concept of what the Octave club is supposed to do is dumb. People who want nasomi to be retail need to realize that not every idea s/e had was gold. Him taking an item that always worked incorrectly and embracing that and putting it on Up in Arms is the exact same concept as him putting bounding boots, empress hairpin, ochimusha kote, etc. on other bcnms. If octave club worked as s/e coded it to, it's a stupid item and useless for anything significant. And noone would want it or care about it. Having a r/ex kraken club is fine. It hasn't been obtainable in years so noone is blind sighting anyone about the mechanics of an existing item. If you don't want one, don't do the bcnm on its release. I really don't understand what the few people with negative comments on this thread are crying about. If you don't have one, and want one, this is good news for you.

I'm not positive, but I also don't know if it's as easy as 'just add an item' even if Nas really wanted to go through the trouble - he has access to the server code, not client code. Certain changes have to happen on the client too, and I'm not sure if dat swapping some shit around is enough. It might be, but I don't know definitively. It seems like he'd have to replace an existing item that the game has support for. Can you replace an item with one with different level requirements? One with a different weapon type? Or does the weapon type and level requirements need to be the same to not cause problems? What about the r/e status? If so, Octave Club is really the only option. Would you be happier if he did a dat swap to change the text on the client side to Octopus Club or something?

But, at the same time, what's the point? If he wants to put r/e kc on the bcnm60 when it gets added, where would he put octave club? Who cares about getting an octave club? If he's only gonna bother adding r/e kc, why not just leave it as the octave?

Octave Club worked exactly the way it was intended.

It didn’t work the way you wish it did.... and that’s not really relevant.

The point is just to let people get a Rare/EX Kclub. Nas is just taking the same method he applies to stuff like Leaping Boots (NM drops it, BCNM drops EX version) and applying it to the kclub. You can compete in the open field for one, have to get claim, etc, or you can spend seals and hope you get lucky, but without the competition attached.

I don’t believe Nas made a item function different than it’s supposed to for a r/e version of Leaping boots.

The one banned later for an unrelated issue would have been Bemont unless it’s happened more than once.

It shouldn’t be a problem. Everyone can just use the widely used and maintained WikiNas to keep up to date on items that have a specific mechanic that is completely different on Nas.

Intended within the environment that SE created it. That environment doesnt exist, therefore I don't think its such a big deal that a RA/EX Kraken Club is introduced. I DO think that one of the sources of Kraken Club need to go tho. 3 sources instead of 1 I think will lead to simply too many within the economy.

Disagree. I think we should add it Valk Emp’s loot table.

Woah. I didn’t really think anyone would actually have a dumber solution than Nas’s.
