What is the different to a level 75 beast (the only one who can get merits) in a jug he calls if he has 0 BA merits (pet is level 73-75 or 74-75 with one item equipped) or one with 5/5 beast merits (pet is level 73-75 or 74-75 with one item equipped) There is no functional difference. Further more someone said they tested a fungur pet. (caps at 63 i think) And that DID NOT raise to 73, which is what it did before.

So let me restate it differently.

There is no difference to a bst in stats or game play between 0/5 beast affinity or 5/5 beast affinity. This may be "intended" but why even have the option to do nothing if that is what is intended. At the same time other merits that were broken or not working are still in the same state.

Is there anything factually incorrect with these statements?

Imagine using a jug pet other than Carrie which naturally caps at 75 and you have your answer. It should increase in level. If it doesn't, bug report. That's it.

yall bst need to stop being one trick wonders and do shit outside of ur pet LS's. we all know what u were doing in limbus in order to farm coins... and trust me attaining coins was never "mainly involving bsts" was it easy with BST? hell yes. is it 100% possible with a lowman comp that does not contain BST? hell yes.

in regards to bst handling ninja mobs in dynamis, yeah that was convenient but a group of competent BLMs could handle that with ease...

im not sure what world you were playing in where you thought BST played such a heavy role in endgame content outside of your ZNM circle-jerk.

I'm not trying to imply best had a heavy role at all, in fact we have so tiny a role as to not be existent as it was. Will you use bst now in dynamis? will your LS invite them? Will your LS use them in Sky? In Sea? where will you use a bst with full merits that you would not use a blm with half merits, or a war with the same, etc.

We had only a few small roles we could play. Now we are back to being excluded from end game content (unless there is a leech spot) again because there is nothing we can do with full merits that a half merited other job can't do better.

My LS doesn't invite people with only one job 75, no matter if it's the best geared possible(relics, abj, etc.). You are really being obtuse about this issue and anytime someone argues one of your points, you move the goalposts.

Here's a checklist incase you don't understand:
Is BST and/or melee DDs your only job(s)?
If so, level something that is useful(tank/support/mage).
If not, focus on gearing those jobs and learning the intricacies of them.
Start/apply to EGLS.

Edit: BSTs role on retail was literally as an outcast of the servers. Never invited to anything, sometimes helping others from /shouts with things a BST could excel on(read: almost nothing). The only "All BST/SMN" kills on Tiamat on retail were done with a pet rotation on the mobs near the spawn area. That's also only because it popped super early and the BSTs gathered in a very short time otherwise the other LS competing would've gotten to it.

So much this. To me the job is just a design flaw from SE because they needed an even number of jobs and picked the one that just doesn't go with anything. Hell they even pushed them out of parties with the pet counting as an integral party member for xp...

Absolutely we would in my ls, if we are doing dynamis and you are coming to fill a DD roll, if you wanted to come beast, come beast. The pet can be very helpful on some pulls or in case of linking stats. I play this game to have fun, if someone wants to play bst in one of those events you listed because its their favorite job then by all means, some times I just play DRG at events even though id do more damage on drk or sam. Now when it comes to something like a big HNM that we need to use a specific job set up on thats different, if my ls has tiamat and say COME BLM! Im not gonna just head out on drg, im a team player and come whats needed even thought drg is my favorite because I understand in the big HNM fights you usually need a specific set up.
