In the meantime, something that might help some folks out: The Olduum Ring quest/item works, even if the Chocobo NPC at the leypoint doesn't work:

https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Olduum

It's a 20-hour cooldown and level 60 item, so it's not a total panacea, but it certainly helps (and the quest is pretty easy - go ahead and knock out the BLU flag quest in that room at the same time if you haven't already).

This is a fantastic point! While it won't eliminate the need for an OP warp in WG or city warp fix, it does provide a small work around for the time being. Thanks, I totally forgot about this quest and item!

The chocobo where it drops you off doesn't work, and it seems like a long walk back to town.

Can confirm its basically as bad as the Qufim walk, with a bunch of aggro. At least you can turn your brain off for Qufim if you're 40+

I find this whole Jeuno Hub controversy quite funny. Remember how one major complaint on retail was how dead the home cities were, making it difficult for new players to meet people?

I think it's good the way it is. Jeuno is plenty busy as people level up. Especially when events like the most recent one for tidal talisman are predominantly held in Jeuno.

Such a non-issue. I can see the argument for Whitegate ports though, but as said earlier that will be in phase 2.

Yeah I agree with this. Non-issue in the face of the mountain of other things that require attention. Whitegate will be the server hub by the time part 2 of the ToAU rollout occurs.

Why were the city NPCs disabled in the first place? They were there on retail, you have to complete a quest to use them. Unlinking the auction houses will just hurt new players looking to buy stuff in their starting cities, most players with access to Jeuno will use the Jeuno AH. The home city AHs will be ghost towns with little reason to list anything there. We don't need separate auction houses, that will make things more inconvenient for everyone.

If we want Jeuno to be the hub, then MAKE IT A CONVENIENT PLACE TO SET YOUR HOME POINT! Don't make other locations inconvenient places to set home points and remove methods of travel that are era-appropriate in an effort to force players to use Jeuno as a hub. We should use it as a hub because its the best place for it, not because setting your HP anywhere else is now inconvenient when it wasn't before. If I can OP warp and warp to Aht Urhgan from Jeuno, I'll set my HP there. As things are right now, I'm better off keeping my HP in Bastok and running the 10 minutes to Jeuno when I want to go to Aht Urhgan. The only reason to go to Jeuno is to buy something out of a bazaar or to warp to Whitegate. Unlinking the AHs just means everyone has to either spend 10 minutes running to Jeuno any time they want to list something or requires they spend 10+ minutes to get anywhere else because all you can do in Jeuno is hop on a chocobo or take a 15-25 minute airship.

If I have to choose between having OP warps while not being able to freely list stuff on the AH or having to spend 15 minutes walking to get anywhere but being able to list items freely, I'm still choosing the OP warps, I'm still not setting my HP in Jeuno.

If Jeuno is going to hub without complaint, the airships need to be glitch free.

Perhaps if we had a better conquest situation with a healthy parity between the nations, we would have more frequent weeks where Xarcabard's OP is staffed so that WHMs can taxi people there for the fastest track back to a city from anywhere.

A hubbing Jeuno is an achievable reality, but it needs work. <3
