You're forgetting the times that a pop item drops though ont he first kill. That lessens it.



Drop rate will be the driving force behind all of this. That's the biggest thing. The 100k could either be reasonable or terrible depending on drop rates.

If the trophy item is say 25% and the pop items are 75% that will be hugely different than like 10% and 50%.


You have them reversed, for what it's worth.

I'm sure there are some wrong assumptions you are making.
You only need to max. kill each T4 once to pop PW. T4 is 1 NM per path.
So worst case scenario PW costs 8.1M

Updated calculator with Trophy % chance to drop and Pop Item % chance to drop inputs.
It's interesting to note how even small % chance to drop changes can have a drastic effect on the average cost of gil to pop a PW.
I suspect this may be why SE went with 100% drop mechanics for each seal.

If T4s work that way, then T3s would also end up working that way probably, so it'd be even less than 8.1m?
It will depend if he makes you need 3 trophy/1 spawn item from each T4 or 3 trophy/1spawn item period to spawn PW, same with T3s to T4.

Was just trying to keep it simple and figure out the max, but youre right. The average kills itll take will probably be closer to 1.5-2.5, instead of 3.

ZNM gear seems to be worse than most of the mid-high end pieces on the AH. Feels like a waste of time if the tier 1 stuff is 100k and you can get AH gear that is better for cheaper.

Is the whole purpose to progress to PW for the few things he offers?

There are a handful of specific pieces that are amazing and have no alternatives anywhere else in the game at current (or anywhere, even in other unimplemented content), e.g. avocat pigaches

There are a lot of meh peices
