I knew Maseki before he got the aegis (and apparently started having intercourse with Nas). He used to use NIN plenty.

which is why I was particularly interested in what nerf he meant

Yeah it was during KS99 wyrm where I couldn't keep hate for sh*t. We had done it 2 weeks before the first BST update and I had no issues, then post update I was completely useless. This may have been addressed since then since I've since sold all my nin gear and haven't tried since mainly because I figured it was the mindset he had meant to be. I figured I'd focus on PLD instead. NIN is by far my favorite job though.

So it wasn't a direct NIN hit, I'm thinking it was a side effect but I decided it is what it is and moved on. Let's be honest PLD and like Aeroo said even RDM tanks are the most effective here.

Interesting. My NIN has felt largely the same, which is.... basically largely underwhelming but still a lot of fun for tanking.

For merit parties? it's in a pretty great spot.

I haven't used it since.... I'm going to be trying tonight. gotta rebuy some of my NIN gear. It's probably less useful than just going as BRD but it sure seems fun.

it sounds like he had a bad KS99 run as NIN and assumed it was nerfed in some way.

and yeah, he adapted by becoming an Aegis PLD.
