No thanks. The current system works fine, it is close enough to allow people options when making parties while also forcing people to spread out and not just sit in the dunes or KRT forever.

That's an interesting point...

People absolutely did sync down 50+ levels even in retail sometimes, but there's only so many spots to exp at in the dunes. As the server population here continues to grow there'll come a point where even with a 10 level sync range there aren't enough camps in the dunes to support everyone that wants to go there and people will be pushed to alternative camps. Following that I suppose there's a certain point where the server population will be the force driving players to spread out rather than the artificial sync limits.

Exactly - there's already not enough camps in the dunes to support everyone that wants to be there.

Early this afternoon, I saw:

5 parties at the 12 lizard camp
3 parties at the 14 lizard camp
1 /BST bouncing between the two
2 parties at the 16 lizard camp
2 parties at the 15 fly camp
2 BST duoing near the 15 fly camp
1 party at the 14 crab camp

And about a third of all of those parties had a PL, so less spots for healers, more speed killing things.


There are alternate camps in other zones, but with the boats having a chance of just outright getting you killed because stuff aggros through the floor and the only other single zone with the full level range being on the other side of that boat for 2/3rds of the nations, it's harder to get people out to Buburimbu.


I'm horrified to think of what it would look like with a higher sync range.

I saw it fairly frequently in the dunes, even pre CoP. But basically never after that.

Same except they were real players helping friends or sometimes strangers out just to be helpful, not someone trying to tank in one window and heal in the other.

I honestly prefer not having a PL and instead having a good party who can all play their roles effectively. That then might also mean pushing limits by i.e. organising skillchains and magic bursts, learning to use MP efficiently, learning when to rest, etc.

Also, the people playing now are probably not your average joe gamer that may have played back then. You don't seek out a private server playing a game era from 13 years ago if you were not a bit dedicated.
