This is a reply to both of you.
who cares if someone had it easier? are you so fragile that your self worth comes from comparing your possessions to someone else in ffxi? isn’t the point to have fun playing the game with friends and earning the rewards for yourselves?
I don’t understand how it even affects you if someone else has something. You’re not fighting them, you’re fighting enemies.
This is mostly true. It shouldn't be a pissing contest, although historically, it always has been in the endgame scene. That line is grayed here as the truth is a lot of high tier items that some older players (including myself on some fronts) have been obtained in stupidly easy/broken manners.
I personally remember an Aspid that spawned maybe 15 times in one day. Members of Topshelf who were in Alpha will recall this. Should this really matter to new players? Depends on that person. Most of us are 'washed up' and are rarely seen doing the content that 90% of the server is partaking in at the moment.
The number of people who benefited from those times gets lower and lower every day. If anything, obtaining these items now will offer the actual reward that was absent back then: Actual feeling of accomplishment.
^^
Seems that people just don't get that Nasomi is still WiP, yeah there are broken NMs and broken quests and if Nas determines the item should be obtainable he creates a temporary alternate method of obtaining it, which may be easier or harder than retail and then eventually the proper way is implemented, do people really expect Nas to retroactively remove that item from everyone's inventory?
I just look at it this way - Every time that people say about something that "it's actually easier on Nasomi" you should assume it won't always remain stay way. If you think you'll need that item better get it sooner than later so you can be the one that people who join next year will be pissed at.
