Status bolts on THF are all but useless now. It was hard enough before to hit anything with such a crappy MM skill cap, and now it's all but impossible at point blank range to land bloody/sleep/acid bolts reliably on anything EM+ (even with capped MM merits), much less land procs (I know the rate isn't different now, but if it was already low to begin with it's much worse now that they're harder to hit).
Like Wolf said, I doubt he's going to change anything, but here are my $0.02 on how it can be dramatically improved aside from just completely rolling the changes back:
• Significantly cut back, rework or remove the ranged ACCURACY nerf. It honestly feels like a flat percentage nerf which has huge implications for anyone that might have reason to /ra at near melee range or from far away. This is nowhere near era/retail accurate and is the major source of problem.
• Rework the damage table to be more like retail. See the table at the bottom of this page:
https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/DistanceYes, I understand that eliminating the r.acc nerf after the recent weapon delay adjustments opens the door for RNG to potentially gain TP rapidly at melee range.. but the overall DPS penalty for doing so would be quite severe anyway. It's not like RNG has decent melee weapon skill levels/caps anyway (the base skill levels for axe/dagger/sword are literally 30-70-ish skill levels below other jobs' primary melee weapons at lv75). And, that said, it's not as if RNG was some insanely OP job to begin with.. Sure, they're very strong in exp parties at certain level ranges, but they're certainly not in the top tier in any merit party by any stretch.
