Hi Nas Community,

I have 1 real life friend who plays and I want to start duoing stuff @ 75. Without going into it at a granular level, what would be your favourite DUO setup for 'most' situations? Since Beast Affinity does not work, I was thinking either 2 x RDM/NIN or 1 x NIN and 1 x RDM. RDM can solo a lot of things so it seems that NIN would give a boost in DD and elemental wheel.

Thoughts?

Well, I lvled THF on my alt to "duo" stuff.
It does not hurt to have higher lvl Treasure Hunter

Main RDM

I run THF WHM, for TH4 and Regen/Haste ect. RDM might arguably be better as a duo partner but I don't have the job at 75 to test this.

True for TH - it might be the best route for drops, time and best evasion cap. I was trying to avoid THF but I'm sure I'd be happy once it's 75

THF w/ RDM or BRD.

If not THF, I would say NIN, SAM or MNK. Depending on what's being duo'd.

If one of you has an alt, RDM, BRD and any of the above probably will put you way ahead of the game.

Some fights may be better served with BLM and RDM and/or BRD.

If you are farming and/or killing NMs for drops without a Thf you are doing it wrong.

Thf + Rdm would be my choice all around. I use Thf + Whm because my Rdm isn't leveled yet.

Why duo when you could just thf/dnc

If you care about drop rates:
RDM+THF is the only answer

If one of you has or levels a dual box TH, or you're interested in doing mercenary work where the drop rates are high (or the people you're working with have TH):

NIN+RDM isn't terrible by any means, but RDM/NINx2 is going to be better in every case I can think of. The ninja is going to spend enough time casting ninjutsu that dividing the tanking among two rdms is going to put their melee potential close to 1 tanking nin, if not higher. You also get 5mp/tick more of refresh, a second large mp pool for chainspell nuking, a second person to enfeeble etc. There isn't much in this game two really good rdm/nin's can't duo; Byakko/Cerberus/Khim/Seiryu are all possibilities. Even with mid-range gear you can quite feasibly duo things like Jailer of Faith, Mother Globe, Suzaku, Ix drk, Roc/Simurgh, limbus floors etc.

The only other thing I can think of that you might want to go is BLMx2. It's got good sea/limbus farming potential, can still hack it against a lot of NMs. I imagine you'd be in higher demand by endgame LS's and BCNM groups than thf+rdm.
