I was randomly searching google for some new farming spots. My keyword search : "Nasomi best npc farming" brought up the below website on the second site listed:

https://www.epicnpc.com/threads/bought- ... n.1383940/

Decided to add the keyword search for anyone who decides to ask why I am surfing around on a site like that and bring the torches and pickforks of trolldom into the thread.

Now that the disclaimer is done, I figured I would post this to ask...does anyone know that sites like this existed? Frankly, I dropped out of the MMORPG scene for many years after Everquest and FFXI. Mainly, because RL happened, but just as a history lesson for me....how long has this shit been going on?

Who the hell gets their rocks off by paying 750 dollars for a final fantasy xi account on a private server?

What in the actual?

Doesn't matter if it's a private server. It is the game and era they want to play and because it is a game where you can invest hundreds to thousands of hours, the value of an account can get quite high.

Maybe the form of my naiveite is unclear to you. I am not speaking about the value of the account. I am speaking about human nature. Who the hell decides to pay this much money to skip the actual value of the game? The rigor and experience is what makes this game worth playing. When I reach the point where I have my the jobs I want maxed out, experienced all of end game, merits expanded and friends have moved on then that's it. I am going on over 2 years and I am no where near that thank god. Why the hell would anyone decide to skip all that? Its hilarious to me and really interesting at the same time.

This is the point where some tard goes okay, boomer. Call me old fashioned, I guess...

No, I completely agree.

They value possessing the account, not building it I guess. Maybe they want to tool around on a pimped out character before flipping it.

The psychology behind this is interesting, indeed.

I would like to see some information on yearly profits from RMT activities. It would probably blow you away if you knew how much an average gamer is willing to pay to get an advantage.

You can't love this game and do RMT at the same time, to me they're mutually exclusive. How could you possibly get attached to your character if you constantly have to look over your shoulder or wonder if you're going to get caught up in the next ban wave. And nasomi seems pretty active on that stuff as well.

And who decides that? I absolutely hate leveling. I only got BLM to 75 and even there I got quite some EXP through MG. Only got a second job to 75 because I wanted a relic and there was already a Claustrum on the server and didn't want to waste my first relic on a not-server-first Claustrum. (Got it anyway so Nas if you are reading this please fix this relic. A lolClaustrum that doesn't even work is even more lol). So got Ninja to 75 where after level 60 I paid people to smn burn me to 75.
So I rather camped NMs, got gil and used that gil to get where I am now. Everyone has their own style of playing this game. Some people fish all day. Some people level all day. Some people work all day and don't really have time to get everything back which they already probably had before on retail or on here (and got banned maybe?) so they rather use other ressources to get where they want.
In the end what people trade is time. They work for their money and use that money to pay other people essentially to use their time and then give their accounts to them.
I am not saying that it is ok to do so. It is clearly forbidden. Just trying to say that there are multiple sides to this coin (hell it's not even a coin. Rather a cube) and your game might not be their game. That is also one of the beatifult things about this game in my opinion. There is so many different things that you can do that theres something for everyone.
But for real don't do these kind of things. It is forbidden. You might be buying hacked accounts or items gained through illegal means so just don't do it.

I agree. If you do that kind of thing then expect to get banned at a certain point. And then you wasted everyones time. Not only your own time but everyones because Nasomi has to get rid of people like you and that costs time he could be using on fixing Claustrum and Sorcerer's earring.

To your point I agree.

To another point: who the f*ck buys pieces of art for 140 million? People can, so they do. As ridiculous as that is, it's the way it is.
