So I feel like this was something that was standard practice on retail, but have been getting more and more replies like "fuck off". When I make PTs I include the level sync and setup with every invite sent.

Do you ask for the setup before joining EXP PTs? Why?

Are you one of the people who get upset when it's done? Why?

Personally I ask almost every time, no matter job/level. Am I in the minority?

To put it simply, if they refuse to divulge setup, it's a party not worth having.

Ask Giffor.

I don't because in my experiences, a setup doesn't mean a thing if the players are gimp or horrible at their jobs.

Shame on you for wanting to know what you're getting into! Don't you like to waste 3 hours of your time being the 3rd THF in the party?

If someone isn't going to tell you what the set up is AND they reply with some kind of "fuck off" then it's the /blist for them, that behaviour doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I do not

I'll put the PT back up on my back and carry it regardless, kappa

It sucks having to build the party and feel responsible for how it turns out, so I understand their frustration a little bit. Like I'm building the party, sending all the tells/invites, doing all the searches for members and zones, and I also have to convince you it's good enough?

I feel like its easier for everyone to just accept the invite, look at the member list and decide if you want to stay.

I accept the invite and then look at the setup myself. If the setup is god awful, I say something came up sorry. I can count on one hand how many parties I've left due to an initially bad job composition. I've much more often arrived to exp parties to give it a chance and simply left or logged out after it was going poorly. While I don't feel the need to ask myself, I also don't mind(especially if its a sam, brd, or rng) what so ever if someone asks me what the setup is on the rare occasion I'm making my own party, partially because it means I was probably leveling a job I couldn't afford to be picky on.

i don't ask, as like aeroo i will usually join w/e party and then look for myself.

BUT if they tell me setup during the invite /tell and i don't like the setup or area then i will decline.

Some people change jobs depending on the setup.

Personally I ask to know job cohesion, sub job to choose, level sync for gear, food to bring (birds?), etc. But honestly, it just comes down to whether the party has bards and/or PLs really. You can make any pt work with PLs, and bards will turn any party better by 25%.

However, if I have free time to deal with a bad setup or I am on a bad job, i won't even care and hope for the best. But if I am on a good job, damn well expect to know if you are walking into a 2 BST/WAR, 2THF, and a BLU.
