I found you guys by looking up FFXI private servers after reading up alternatives to retail. Glad I did tbh.

That was online.. You seem like good peeps ..trying to help? Ive been searching I was able to do this before?? thats how I got all my monk sup3 equip..I could find an updated list of all AH servers on FFXI severs and transfer to get my gear now I cant get there.. Am I missing something or is that link and listing gone?? Cant get to different Server AH online and check what they have for sale before I transfer?? Can you help me? Thank You in advance.. Abacca

I found you all through an old xi acquaitance that went to Nasomi.

I was in a nostalgia kinda mood, and did a random ffxi nostalgia search on google... and the page kinda came up.

Was hesitant at first, but the download was really simple, and the whole thing seemed really user friendly so... after a while I gave it a try.

I've been re-living face planting at city zones ever since lol

Given all the talk about WoW Classic, it got me thinking about FFXI Classic... If it existed then of course I'd be onboard. Well go figure, it doesn't. But that google search led me to Nasomi.

Did a little research to be safe and found a fairly comprehensive private server comparison chart at https://wiki.dspt.info/index.php/DarkStar_Servers

Nasomi won by far. The only true classic server by the listing above. Not to mention, the download/set up was surprisingly simple (still managed to screw it up the first time though lol).

Found Nasomi searching Google for, "free ffxi servers"
Then just chose the one with the most people to play with

I play pathfinder, and had run the idea of GMing a static campaign with some modified rules that takes place in Vana'Diel, using FFXI Jobs/Races. When my friends showed interest I pulled up the OST to listen to in the background while I read up on how other people have made the classes in Pathfinder. In the comments section on Youtube I saw a conversation about the server. I have dragged as many people as I can back in with me.

(This server is awesome. I last played FFXI around 7 or 8 years ago, and was really disappointed. It was kind of fun, but it isn't FFXI anymore. I didn't think I'd really get to enjoy this game again. So far it feels like the blend of rules/updates is perfect)
