Me and father have just starting play on this server after a long break from FFXI and are having good nostalgic journey. However we don't want to appear as if we're dualboxing or cheating the system. I'd just like to know the rules on how many players on the same IP etc, and not to mention my brothers looks interested in playing the game too, which could potentially be 3 accounts on the same IP, which will definitely look fishy.

Having you and your father play would most likely be okay. I believe you can have two active, some people dual box and it is allowed. a 3rd could be an issue though. Honestly, I would go talk to Nas in NasChat.

I'll have a chat with him if I can get his attention!

Here's what I've gathered (corrections appreciated)

You can have 3 accounts per IP, only 2 may be active in the field at the same time. So you can play with one other person, but if all 3 want to party, I'd recommend a second IP.

Dual boxing is allowed, I would recommend that this is only done when playing solo, do not have 2 people dual boxing at the same time.

NEVER HELM in the same area, I wouldn't recommend fishing in the same areas either.

◾ You may have up to 3 accounts/characters, total.


◾ 2 are able to be out in the field getting the EXPs


◾ The 3rd can be a crafting/boat mule

I didn't have any issues with my roommate and I both 2-boxing at the same time, and occasionally one or the other of us would have a mule parked in town to craft or something.

As long as you let Nasomi know about the situation, you should be fine.

Two of my family members and I just started playing. How can I specify this so that the people in charge don't think its one person triple boxing? I can't log into NasChat as someone previously suggested.

Go into the IRC channel #nasomi bettern 9-5 Mon-Fri, you should be able to speak to him at those times.
