Hello, so after playing warrior for some time I've noticed that GA damage is flat out broken , it just simple isn't doing what it should be, far too low. This I know for sure. I'm also thinking the Accuracy might be off as well, but I obviously can't confirm that.

So for example I'm in a pt right now in dunes, lvl sync, I'm using a weapon under the cap ( so it's not that lvl sync bug I've been told about ) , capped skill using attack/str food. I'm using a GA with 30 dmg on it, the lvl 12 one called Greataxe, there is a drk using a 27 dmg scythe. We're same lvl, , both with capped sub job, same race, gear is about the same, and i'm constantly getting out damaged per attack by 10-20+ damage, and he/she is doing far more damage on ws, I'm doing roughly 30ish with shield break ( when it lands, which seems rarely ), 75-100ish+ slices coming from the drk.

Now the real kicker is even with Berserk up, I'm still getting out damaged by about 5-10+.

I dunno if there is anything u can do about this on your end, but I just thought I'd post about it.

Okay, a few things here:

You need to give more information. (What food you're using, what subjob the DRK was using, what mobs are you fighting, etc)

Shield Break is not a good WS at all. Sadly, GA WSs before Sturmwind are all trash. So it's not surprise that Slice is vastly outperforming your Shield Breaks. It's hard to compare damage of WSs of different weapons accurately.

Also bare in mind that certain mobs are weaker to different times of damage (slashing, piercing, blunt, magical). This can easily explain why the DRK is doing more damage than you are.

Most importantly, what you're doing is known as "eyeballing". You need to come back with some hard numbers (usually via a parser) before any real conclusive answers can be offered.

Both using Meat miths, fighting lizards, I'm war/thf, he/she is a drk/war.

I know slice is a better dmg ws, but 30ish dmg seems low even for it.

I'm also aware about dmg resist, but lizards shouldn't have it, and even if that was the case both weapons are slashing.

Not running a parser atm, but I am keeping track of each hit and it's always the same. Sure this is a small sample size, but this has been the way for multiple pts now.

I'm not stuck on the ws dmg, I know it's a junk dmg ws and slice is a proper dmg ws, it's the auto attack damage that isn't right. Sure I'm "eyeballing" but I'm not about to run a parser on a private server either, lol.

I'm just bringing this some attention, what u all wanna do is ur call . * shrug *

Maybe its the attack bonus trait that drk gets at 10?

I think Sly is right about the attack bonus trait, combined with the fact that Last Resort lasts just as long as Berserk here. Berserk is 25% boost, Last Resort is 15% before merits, but DRK gets a flat +10 attack at level 10 which lets it pull ahead somewhat at low levels when the numbers are still low.

Slice will do a good bit more damage than Shield Break just due to the multiplier. Compare:

Shield Break
http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Shie ... did=236343
STR 20% VIT 20% 1x multi

Slice
http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Slice?oldid=329871
STR30% 1.5x multi

Shield break is still the better WS here due to eva down.

Edit: Also, don't sub thf before 30, sub MNK in dunes, use Boost before WS.

That atk bonus should only help him/her keep up a little with GA dmg, not surpass and blow it out of the water, even with zerk up. Talking about a 3dmg difference on the weapons, that's a pretty big difference right there.

Once again not trying to suggest shield break do more dmg, I already knew slice was going to do more.

Shield Break isn't considered to be a 'do big damage' weapon skill. it's usefulness comes more from the -30 evasion it gives to a mob, giving all the melee the ability to melt mobs quickly. I'm sure you'll find that GAXE is very much the top weapon for WAR as you get into the higher levels. You'll find some decent damage out of shield break when stacked with sneak attack when 30+.

If you're feeling a little underwhelmed by your current DPS, I suggest investing in a good crossbow and some bolts. You'll be able to land hits/skill up quickly after using shield break's evasion down.

You underestimate the value of attack, especially on IT targets, while overestimating the impact of DMG.

If you wanna feel like shit, try partying with a DRG and watch the wyvern single-handedly out-DD every melee.
