I noticed there have been numbers of new accounts create within 30 days. I feel the newbie / new comers waves are coming.

Are you guys feeling the same?

Nasomi was recently advertised in a Kotaku article. That's likely why you're seeing a lot of new people.

I believe it'll be a temporary surge of new players, and whether or not people stick around is another question

I have certainly noticed the population has increased roughly 100+ during peak times, so ya I tend to agree that new and returning players have certainly increased in the last month.

I'm sure the new sync system and BCNM starting to open up has lots to do with it. (like most I'm excited for the 30+ BCNM to open )

Hope the trend continues, FFXI only gets better with more people.

Yup, thats how I heard about it. I think the server is great, gil is hard af to make, but it should be honestly, adds value to your equips.

One thing from a new player experience is that the sync bug is very annoying, always having to reform, and it would be very nice to see the friends list brought up (I am sure making it rehook to a spoofed pol db is no easy task). But other than those 2 things I have been having a blast and will be staying.

Private servers are never going to be bug free, but hey, it's free, it's old school.

I welcome the new players. It'll be nice to see a wave of new people to hang out with.

Thats how I found it. Actually was looking at something FFXI related on google and stumbled upon the article. Now me and a friend are on jamming and having a blast.

Well, I fully intend to stick around. This is FFXI as I loved it most. I can't believe I didn't think to look before today. I did, however, miss the Kotaku articule or I'd have been here sooner!

Not only are we newbies coming, we're gonna be hitting the Dunes before you know it. (;

Returning player also .. I noticed that nasomi seems to have had a revitalization in his desires to make updates because there have been a flurry of awesome changes it seems. The new installer is also fantastic! So easy to get up and running again.
