I recently started playing the game and as with everyone else, very short on gil. I have invested in field gear and was hoping that with some time, mining would be able to help me get ahead in the gil race.

First thing I noticed, it seems that there is only 1 spawned mine point at any given time, is that correct?

Secondly, I went around and did it for awhile, then it seemed that suddenly my pics started breaking at a huge increase, and there was more and more junk found vs anything of use. Is this something built into the server? You can mine for X amount of time, then rewards drop and pic breaks increase? If so, how long is thing in affect for before you can go out and try again?

Correct. You can use this to your advantage by mining as a group with one party member at each mining point. But remember, you aren't allowed to multibox HELM.

Another quick question. Does Field Gear on this server increase the chances of something better dropping when you mine, or increase the chances of your pick not breaking?

I believe it does, however fishing gear doesn't. I mined a lot back in the day and it seemed to work.

Which one does it improve? Less chance of pick breaking? Or better chance of quality drop? Both would be awesome
