I can't EXP on the job I'm on. So I'm /anon to reduce the number of tells I get asking while I do other stuff.

In general, it's to do stuff without people disturbing you.

Because I don't want people to know what I'm doing when I'm in a zone. Also what Chakan said.

If I don't, even when in a party, people send me tells asking for teleports. Anon doesn't even protect me at times, so I unequip all of my gear too (to stop people who check your gear to see what job/lvl you are). I don't mind doing it for people when I'm not busy or have spare time, but if I'm in a party, it should be safe to assume I'm busy. Outside of that, sometimes I just want to fish, farm, quest, or do missions in peace/without interruptions. WHM is the only job I /anon on.

Alot of times its people who dont want to be disturbed. I know I always feel guilty when I see a shout for "Can you do this" and I just move along.

When you have a job, WHM for example, that can teleport they often get dozens of "Hey can you teleport my group" tells in a short period of time. I will only speak for myself, but there are nights I get on and I want to get X done, and its gonna take me awhile. Having to stop to reply to tells and say im too busy A. makes me look selfish if i say no and B. If i do answer, that means I am cool and will be asked for it more often even if I say no the first time.

The anonymous mode at least shields players from some of that. Alot of time people just want to be left alone. Who can blame them.

Anon only kind of works here but it is nice when you don't want people to know what you're doing in a particular zone sometimes.
