Is it okay for 3 people in the same house to play?

Yes.

The rules for character ownership are per person, not per household. But be careful of the HELMF rule - its 1 per IP, not per person.

Well i just bought my 2 kids some laptops im wanting us all to play a game together, whats helmf? Like mining and stuff?

You can all play, you just cant all mine, log, harvest or fish at the same time.

Harvesting, Excavating, Logging, Mining, and Fishing.

If it's clear and easy to see it's 3 people playing, I don't think you'll run into problems.

If you cart around 6 characters all on follow 24/7, you might run into problems.

so they both got the game downloaded but when both try to log in only one can at a time while I'm on,any ideas?

Did they each make their own account?

It worked for him in the end. All he did was restart the client for one.

Mine had that issue as well when I made one for my daughter. I would log into my account and her character would show up. Or I would log in with my character but wouldn't let her log in even though we had separate accounts. It will still occasionally do it but it has worked itself out for the most part.
