 Post subject: How much is broken?

So I'm new here. Logged in to have a bit of nostalgia.

I tried doing both A hat in time, and to catch a falling star, and both quests are broken. I always liked these quests when I played retail because they give you free items, a great way to save gil. It's ok if these are broken, it happens, it's a private server.

It does however make me wonder before I invest too much of my time here, how much of the game is like this? Is most of the game broken as is?

About 95% of the CoP game is functional.

There are probably less than 10 quests that don't work that are intended to work.

I can say for certain that To Catch a Falling Star worked fine when I was a lad, but that was 2 years ago.

There are certainly far more than 5% of quests broken, not to mention a great deal of currently non-functional content. I don't think it's prudent to misinform people.

For reference just in CoP companion quests alone there are over a dozen non-functional quests. See, e.g., the list at the bottom of http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Cate ... a_Missions for reference, combined with the majority of map quests related to CoP areas.

Whether they are "important" enough (as arbitrary and subjective of a metric that is) they still constitute CoP content and should be considered when estimating "working content".

A lot is broken in game. Many things are not functioning properly/era-like, many abilities/monsters/etc have incorrect formulas. Lot of quests are not working properly. Many glitches that you will immediately notice the moment you login. Good deal of content that isn't even up and running.

This server has a majority of the core gameplay functional, and that's why we play on this server, but trying to sell you on "only around 5% doesn't work" would be complete bullshit lol. Many of these things that aren't working properly typically don't work on ANY of the private servers unless their developers specifically put time into it. So when you see errors in game, it's more than likely not just this private server that has the problem.

Just don't come to a PRIVATE SERVER expecting everything to work how it did on the original game and you'll be fine.

There were more quests working when we were using rolling versions. Nas version locked last summer while moving to a new game version and it broke some quests, but it also means they don't have to be re-fixed in the future once they're fixed again.
