I see "Trust" in the menu - does that function actually work? I've heard you can somehow recruit NPC's as party members.

Nope, it's an out of era feature that has it's UI button in our client because we use the modern FFXI client.

Thanks this is very helpful. I thought there was maybe a little of the newer stuff but it seems this server is distinctly old-school - which is great!

I am having a blast so far but I don't know if I have the zeal to shout for party in the Dunes all over again.... If only I was 20 again LOL. Tough decision!

Get to 12.. make the walk to Valkurm (ideally, if your nation has it.. get the Outpost while you're going, it's invaluable).. and seek while being in Valk/Selbina. You won't need to shout, you'll get invites.
