I understand i usually play old school games and i feel like this game graphics is high quality to my standards but its not a deal breaker for me.

When i saw the character creation screen i was like "wow the characters look really nice for a old game" then when i got ingame and look at my character i was like "wtf my graphics must be set to low or something" spent like 10-15mins looking through config and stuff but then i started to think that it suppose to be this way due to limitations or something.

That chick in the creation screen is smoking though

The rendering is probably different for virtually static images, and it's not like other characters around you look any better (check in-game - you won't see anyone who looks as good as the character creation page). and nobody will really care on how you look because nobody expects incredible graphics from a 15 year old game (nobody expects the Spanish inquisition either).
Also your appearance will significantly change once you begin changing your gear, which will happen sooner than later.
