I'm also 50, too bad I just got g1 done, I got help from my ls, a single THF62 was enough to farm all items, you don't need a full pt. The only real problem is the paper and you will probably need to back your friend up a little. If you're WHM make sure you have Sneak (Invisible is also nice but not an absolute requirement), Cures at least 1-3 (4 will also be nice), Poisona (other -na spells will also be nice), at least Protect 2 (3 will be nice) and Shell 2 and also Dia 2 will make things quicker. Get good MND gear and also some defensive gear because you may take a blow or two.
If you can't find help on your ls worst case you can pay for someone to help you (gil only, RMT is a sure way to lose your account).
