Hi, i played ffxi a while back for a little bit and coming back just now. I use a gamepad(xbox360) and i feel like i used to have my macro palettes on hold instead of toggle, is this possible or am i just crazy??

Try going to gamepad config, select preset E and see if that helps.

Not when using a controller, only when using Ctrl or Alt on your keyboard.

Most likely, you would need to get your controller buttons remapped as the CTRL and ALT keys. The game engine was designed around controllers as toggle and keyboard as hold. Since we are locked from adding any plugins and such, guess it would need to happen from the Winblows side.

Remapping the buttons to act as the CTRL / ALT keys will continue to exhibit the delay... just as it would when pressing the keys on a keyboard.

It seems either my memory is flawed or it was some kind of add on perhaps but cant remember since it was like 10 years ago. I hereby declare this matter resolved and will get used to toggling macros. I appreciate everyone who took the time to answer.
