Hey everyone,

Does "Dropping like flies" drop the Empress Hairpin like "Petrifying Pair" drops bounding boots?

If not, is that item in the game and where can I get it?

Emperor's hairpin drops off Valkrum Emperor, which is a random fly that spawns off the other flies on the west beach. Its fairly common. I went 2/2 on it

If I recall correctly the fly should be the one dropping the empress and the BCNM should be dropping the emperor (or is it different on Nasomi?)
The emperor hairpin sells for 300k on AH and if it were obtainable from a level 30 NM I doubt it would have cost that much.

I recall people wearing the ex version.
I also believe Qu'Bia had an issue previously that was fixed.
Try it out and update the wiki, very few people do. It's only 30 seals.

@Rohall88 I haven't seen an empress hairpin on the server yet, only the emperor, which is why I listed it there and how to get it.

@nightcoder I said I went 2/2 on the Valkrum Emperor... so maybe camp it if you want to sell it for 300k on the ah. Same reason why Leaping boots are 350k on the AH.

Hmm... yeah that's possible. If I recall correctly I got the r/e boots from PP, contrary to what FFXIcyclopedia says. Either they got it wrong or nas got it wrong.
Anyway I think you should consider the non r/e variant to be more valuable because you can sell it for 300k if you need the gil more than you need it, don't you agree?

How long have you been here and you dont know where Emperor Hairpin comes from on Nasomi?

To clarify, yes there was a Qubia Arena update, and no it didnt result in that BC working. Also there's no right or wrong way, Nasomi has his reasons for why certain things drop RA/EX and certain things drop the sellable versions.

Both of my characters have an Empress Hairpin because from launch on here until around summer 2014 most nms dropped the rare/ex version. Nas changed it to the normal versions after that.
