A handful of times I've been outclaimed by a BST with a charm claim that only showed the NM popping claimed. I figured provoke was pretty strong but is this a glitch with bst or am I just experiencing ppl with claim bots lol honest question

From my experience, charm is about the same as steal, jump, ect. Provoke is not as quick to me but it could be different things like your connection to the server and what not. If you think someone is cheating, SS the log and record the NM popping and get as much other info as you can, and report it :)

Hijacking to ask where the server location is precisely?

Having done a decent amount of claiming on Nas with both Charm and Provoke, they're both basically the same.

But, FFXI is a game where latency is insanely important, at least in regards to claiming. 50ms will often mean the difference between success and failure if you're both at the right place at the right time.

Charm has always beaten Voke on claims, it's just instantaneous. That just makes BST even better at tracking and claiming NMs!

See? The job still has its perks. ;)

Same exact timing on all ability claims. Jump, provoke, quick draw, charm. It's all the same. It's probably better for the energy of the server for the mindset to not be "either it's a glitch or someone is cheating" though. Claiming things where it pops in the exact same place and time and everyone is just button mashing is all going to be latency. I dual box and very often see things pop on one screen before the other. It's just luck.
