Um, so I just got a Windows Defender notification telling me boot.exe has a Trojan. Screenshot attached. Figured someone out there with a little more knowledge of this might be able to shed some light on this.

As someone who works for the software security industry, I can explain why it happens -
Generally, the game client has a hard-coded list of the retail game servers, i.e. it can only connect to the predetermined retail serves. The boot-loader therefore needs to modify the game client in memory in order to make it connect to a server not on its internal list (e.g. Nasomi, any other private server, your own test server etc.). Injecting code and modifying processes in memory is also something that many types of malware tend to do in order to hide themselves, bypass security software etc. so some (less capable) security software detect any software performing that behavior as malware, even if it has a non-malicious reason for doing so.

yeah the damn defender closed my game 2 days ago , add it to exceptions and done :D

its just that the boot has a changesin the memory , (injects the IP and whatnot) , so dont worry about it :)
