What is the preferred method for swapping gear on Nas?

In retail I'd call custom .txt files, unsure if that's frowned upon or equipset is the standard. Searched for answers but got a lot of vague topics relating to. I know there is a thing with blinking removing your animation + dmg display, so looking for some best practices/recommendations?

Equipsets are right under macro's in the menu, you can set up the gear you want, then just type /equipset 1, /equipset 2 in your macro's. Very easy to do.
