If you don't move for awhile, do you stop getting skillups?

I was 4 levels away from cap, no synth support (level 26 synth, level 30 cap). I had not moved in a long time, skilling up from 24-26 at a normal rate during that time. As soon as I hit 26, I went 23 consecutive synths with no skillups. I don't know if the level up had anything to do with it, but I included it so others could test that too.

Someone told me I should try moving. I moved over a little bit and I began getting normal skillups again (nearly every synth).

Anyone else experience this? It could be deadly at high levels when it costs so much to skill up.

Also, if this is really a thing, how could you ninja-add it to the game and not tell us?

Every time i craft now i'm losing something it seems. Regardless if i'm 60+ lvls above synth or 10. Lost x2 siren hairs earlier, why i hardly synth anymore. The amount of full breaks seem to be off, not so much the skill-up rate in my personal experience.

Interesting. Were you getting skillups at that spot before you stayed there for a long time?

Nas does ninja changes. Fucking annoying.

Yes, I was getting skillups normally from 24-26. As soon as I hit 26, they dried up completely for 23 synths (I don't know if hitting a level up was just a coincidence).

So, I have been watching someone twitch-stream speed runs for Chrono Trigger. Amazing stuff. Apparently, a player can manipulate RNG in that game to twink party character damage output since the game seeds RNG at the beginning via the length of time one waits before advancing beyond the title screen, and then the game recalculates RNG via specific triggers to conserve resources. So, this guy I watch sometimes resets the game just to re-seed RNG and "keep" it when and until he "screws up." He literally keeps a journal of specific damage numbers for each attack and follows an uber-precise playthrough where timing is planned to achieve an insane game progress speed. Once he departs from those known damage numbers, he knows that he has messed up and has "lost" RNG.

I would not be surprised if something similar is going on on Nasomi where skillup RNG is seeded by something like position info and skill levels and then drops off to zero after a certain amount of time or skillup procs. I have never gone 23 tries on a -4 synth without a skillup. wtf

If this exists, I’m going to murder Nas.

Going that long on that low level of a synth would be pretty shitty luck. Going that long on a synth in the 90s is fairly common.

If you say so. I haven't gotten that far except from era retail. Only have 75 wood and it still seems pretty good. Guess I will see what the bitching is about!

Well..

I've made about.... 650 dance shoe synths. I've gained 4.5 levels.

You do the math.
